Livers Bronze Company is currently seeking a qualified CAD designer/detailer.  We offer a unique combination of Architectural and Mechanical drawing requirements and responsibilities.  You will work with a Project Manager for each job to create Architectural approval drawings for our Railing systems for the Architects’ approval.  Once approved, you will be required to generate drawings to acquire precise dimensions from the field as-built conditions.  The Approved drawings and field dimensions will be used to design a custom fitting railing system specifically for that job condition by creating Final / Manufacturing mechanical shop detail drawings for the manufacture of the custom railing system components for field installation.

  • BS or Associates in Engineering technology, 2 yr Technical school, or related work experience.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD 2000 or higher (currently using 2005).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Common knowledge of design and manufacturing techniques.
  • General mechanical knowledge of materials, steel shapes, and hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to balance competing tasks in a rapidly changing environment to meet completion deadlines.
  • Willingness to take personal ownership for the success of a project.

  • Analyze information from GLOBAL (Company MRP Computer system) transactions and reports related to cost collectors in the system. This includes cost analysis, MRP, bills of material, time recording, etc.

  • Apply cost accounting principles to problems in the production order system.

  • Communicate with other employees to correct and prevent system problems and inaccuracies.

  • Provide suggestions for changes and improvements in the system.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records using PC and GLOBAL system, and conventional paper ledgers if necessary.

  • Use PC spreadsheet and database programs to create appropriate reports, etc. along with the reports within the GLOBAL system.

  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for production, quality, creativity, and safety.

  • Analyze standard cost variances and their root causes. Change inventory item costs as required in GLOBAL. The changes will be made in conjunction with the Materials Group, Livers Bronze Co. Information Technology and Project Estimating Teams. The end result is that these costs will be used in estimating new projects and update current routers used in estimating and production.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The environment in which this employee works includes:

• Regular, continuous use of a personal computer or computer terminal.

• Office environment most of the time, with occasional trips to the shop. The shop environment includes physical hazards such as forklifts, welding and machining, grinding and finishing, pedestrian traffic sharp objects and moving machinery. Occasional filing and sorting of files requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds repetitiously.

• Working with confidential information.

 

  • Have a minimum of 21 hours of college-level course work in accounting (accounting or business-related degree preferred).

  • Have appropriate PC skills, preferably with experience in spreadsheet applications.

  • Have a strong business background, including familiarity with accounting and financial systems.

  • Work well with others in a rapidly changing, multiple-deadline environment.

  • Experience with Standard Cost System, MRP or GLOBAL is desired.

  • Have an excellent work record of self-motivation, judgment, and productivity.

  • Demonstrate appropriate skills in analyzing accounting information.

  • Be willing to work overtime as needed.

  • Have appropriate keyboarding, reading, and clerical skills.

 

Project Manager

  • Build the relationship with our customer so that all activities in the project go in accordance with the schedule milestones and values.  (i.e. field checks and final installation).

  • Assist in generating work orders, drawings and required shipping information for rails needing rework.

  • Learn to utilize Global Shop software to create sales orders and work orders for shipment of miscellaneous hardware/part that are missing, lost or damaged in original shipment to jobsite

  • Provide re-work glass drawings and required shipment schedule to purchasing associate for re-order.  When necessary, coordinate installer with arrival of glass at jobsite for loading/unloading.

  • Document and transfer electronic files to Livers network when detailed by outside companies.

  • Produce work orders, plot all necessary drawings associated with project and distribute to appropriate departments.

  • Management Responsibility: Acts as an assistant to a project manager.  Acts as liaison between Livers Bronze Co. Project Management and the customer. Must have good phone, email and communication skills. Among responsibilities is the ability to work as a member of the project management team, which may include Livers Bronze Installers.  The individuals comprising this team may vary by project.

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 year technical education and 5 years previous experience in manufacturing; 2 years project management experience.

  • Desirable: 5 years previous project management experience; 7+ years experience in manufacturing; knowledge of production processes; Lean Manufacturing principles and quality control.
