Livers Bronze Co. Celebrates its 75th Anniversary

Kansas City, Mo., December 14, 2021: Family-owned Livers Bronze Co. is proud to announce its 75th anniversary as a leading designer and manufacturer of commercial hand railing systems.

Founded by the Livers brothers; Dick, Harold and John in 1946, Livers Bronze began as a provider of bronze grave markers to local cemeteries and over the ensuing years branched out into signage, hand railings and elevator cab interiors. Their father, John F. Livers Jr., also was in the metal business during the 1930’s creating ornamental lighting fixtures. Today, some of Kansas City’s historical landmarks and buildings, including the Downtown Municipal Auditorium, still have these original pieces on display.

Now under the leadership of the third generation of Livers, the company maintains its focus on sound engineering and manufacturing principles as the nationwide leader in hand railing product design. Livers Bronze is one of the few companies in the country to fabricate hand railings from the initial design to engineering and final installation. Their “Made in the USA” heritage serves as a symbol of American-made quality, and a competitive advantage in the national and global market.

“It’s amazing to think how much our business has evolved over these past 75 years,” said Charlie Livers, President. “From iconic lighting fixtures to state-of-the-art hand railing systems, we have accomplished so much. And it’s extremely rewarding to say that all of our products are manufactured right here in Kansas City.”

Located in the Blue River Business Park bordering Swope Park, Livers Bronze operates inside a 127,000 square-foot facility specially designed for custom railing and metal fabrication. The company takes a great deal of pride in its presence in the Kansas City community. The innovative and distinctive work by Livers Bronze is prominently displayed in a number of  Kansas City locations, including Municipal Auditorium, the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, the University of Kansas Medical Center, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Two Light Kansas City, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the Buck O’Neil Education Center, and the new corporate headquarters for Burns & McDonnell and Dairy Farmers of America.

Mr. Livers pointed out that the company has made significant advancements at its manufacturing plant over the years, including the addition of the latest and most sophisticated machinery as well as the expansion and continued education of its employee base. “We recognize that architects are continually looking for precision quality and expertise from a reliable source. Not only are we committed to providing cutting-edge technology, we’re also proud of our knowledgeable and well-trained staff.”
