La Nube—Spanish for “the cloud”—is a one-of-a-kind STEAM discovery center designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation. Spanning 77,000 square feet across four immersive levels, the museum invites guests of all ages to explore hands-on exhibits that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and math. True to its name, La Nube encourages imaginations to rise as freely as the clouds themselves, fostering inclusive, boundless exploration for people of all ages and abilities while strengthening cross-cultural connections with the Children’s Museum in neighboring Juárez, Mexico.
A defining architectural element throughout the facility is the extensive use of Livers Bronze glass railings, which are prominently featured across the museum’s open, multi-level interior. Many of the railings are custom curved and spiraled, echoing the fluid, cloud-like geometry of the building while maintaining transparency and safety without interrupting sightlines. Positioned in high-traffic, highly visible areas, these railings play a critical role in shaping the visitor experience—guiding movement, framing views, and reinforcing the museum’s sense of openness and motion.
More than a functional necessity, the Livers Bronze glass railings serve as a signature design feature, seamlessly blending structural integrity with refined craftsmanship. Their warm bronze tones and elegant forms complement the bold architecture, allowing light to flow freely throughout the space while enhancing the museum’s sculptural interior aesthetic.
We were thrilled to collaborate with EXIGO Architects, Snøhetta, and Jordan Foster Construction on this remarkable project. Together, we helped bring an ambitious vision to life—one where design, innovation, and craftsmanship converge to create an unforgettable experience for visitors and a landmark destination for the El Paso community.
